Condemn Cuff: A Futuristic and Extendable Bracelet

Design Inspired by Car Suspension and Train Stopper

The Condemn Cuff, designed by Jimin Jung, is a unique and innovative piece of jewelry that combines architectural elements with modern design. Inspired by the structure of a car suspension and a train stopper, this cuff stands out with its extendable feature and sleek appearance.

One of the main goals of this project was to create a cuff that does not have size limitations. Traditionally, cuffs are designed with clasps that restrict their size range. However, Jung aimed to design a clasp and cuff as one object, eliminating the need for size limitations.

The Condemn Cuff is made from 18k yellow gold plated brass and features two compression springs on both sides. These springs allow the cuff to expand and contract, accommodating various wrist sizes. The tension of the springs ensures a comfortable fit while allowing the cuff to move along with the wearer's wrist.

With dimensions of 70mm x 20mm x 68mm, the Condemn Cuff is a statement piece that combines futuristic aesthetics with architectural influences. Its unique design and extendable feature make it a versatile accessory that can be worn by anyone.

Jimin Jung, the designer behind this innovative cuff, utilized various technologies to bring his imagination to life. Through extensive research and experimentation, he was able to materialize the intricate shapes and functionalities of the Condemn Cuff.

The Condemn Cuff was created in Philadelphia and completed in January 2015. Since its creation, it has garnered attention and recognition in the design world. In 2016, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
